Why Volunteer?
Gain a sense of achievement & know the reward of helping to bring an
emergency situation under control. Learn the skills necessary to protect yourself and your family in an emergency situation and become a member of a community action team. Your fire department is willing to train you for firefighting, emergency first aid, apparatus operation and more. All equipment and training will be provided at no cost to you.
Requirements:
You must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a background check. You must be available to attend monthly meetings, training sessions and other department activities. A CPR and basic first aid class will have to be completed, and at some point, you will need to attend the McKinney CCCC fire academy to obtain the
72 hours of firefighting training required to fight live fires. Additional training is also available at no cost to the member.
If you are a committed individual and interested in becoming a part of our team, please contact Joel Schmieg at Chief@LowryCrossingFire.org. You are also welcome to attend our monthly maintenance on the 2nd Tuesday, or our training on the 4th Tuesday.
